The when and why . . .
I was 5 and we were on vacation at the beach. My dad was taking family snapshots, and I begged him to let me take a picture. He placed his box camera in my small hands, put the strap around my neck, and flipped open the viewfinder cover. I looked down into a miniature world created by glass and light. “Go ahead”, he said, “take a picture.” And with the press of my tiny finger, time stopped – a moment frozen on film.
It was magic!
If I have a specific goal as a photographer it is to find and share the surprising and magical in everyday moments and places.
